    when choosing a DNA test, I wanted to go with the best. I can’t compare with the other big companies, but I knew that 23 and Me is a well established company.

    + PROS: Large database of users opening the possibility of more matches

    Very interesting and exciting to be part of a global scientific endeavor.

    + PROS: Results are compared with a large database. New studies are conducted all the time. Application is always improving.
    - CONS: Can't think of any.

    OMGosh!!

    1. I’d give them 100/100.

    2. It was SO EASY! Spit into a tube that came with a stamped, addressed mailer. All you had to do was supply or create an email address to send the results to.

    And 3: the results took about 3-5 weeks, not positive on the turnaround, but it was relatively quick.

    I opted for the enhanced medical info (to see if my genes carry any diseases/conditions—knowledge is power). And now I get notifications when people from my DNA profile enter the 23&Me database. So I get to see 2nd to 6th cousins, which is a trip. And I can contact them if they make their info public (to the site) or it can just come up as Anonymous. It’s all good. Highly recommend!!!!

    It took them 2 moths to tell me my first test did not work. They sent me a new kit and I carefully re submitted my sample. I sent it back. It took two weeks for the kit to reach them. It has been in the “DNA extraction” stage for a month now. I am not sure this will work out. They do not have a customer service number, and they do not answer emails. I feel very discouraged with this company.

    + PROS: The test is easy. They sent a new kit immediately after the first one did not work.
    - CONS: The wait. No customer service.
